Dating, in earnest.
A dating app for people who show up, look like their photos, and treat each other well. There is no casual tier, no endless swiping, and nothing you can pay to skip.
In development at GRCSAC.
How it works
Your name, your word, kept.
Earnest runs on one simple idea, threaded through everything: the things you say and do here carry your name, and they add up.
Claim
You choose the one name you are known by. One name per person, permanent. Everything you do here carries it — no throwaway handles, no starting over.
Commit
Dates are proposed and confirmed in the app, and confirming one is giving your word. A confirmed date is the only thing that is ever looked back on. No date, nothing to answer for.
Keep
A day after, both of you answer the same quiet check-in: did they show up, did they look like their photos, were they good company. You never see their answers, and they never see yours.
Earn
Kept words add up to badges — Reliable, True to Photos, Great Company. Earned slowly, over real dates. Never bought.
They never see your answers. Your answers never see theirs. The record does.
The post-date check-in
What makes it different
Built to be fair on purpose.
Badges, never scores
No star ratings on people, no public reviews, no leaderboard. The only public marks are the good ones you have earned.
Honest photos
Every photo shows the month it was added. What you are looking at is current, or it says plainly that it is not.
Fair in both directions
You only see each other if you are both inside each other’s age range and want the same kind of thing. Every filter runs both ways.
Nothing to buy
No boosts, no super-likes, no priority queue. Attention here cannot be bought, by anyone, for any price.
Serious only
Long-term, open to it, or figuring it out. There is deliberately no casual setting — it is the whole point.
A few, chosen well
A small set of thoughtful introductions a day, not an endless well to swipe through at two in the morning.
